Gamified attention and executive-function assessment for children
MONKEY-EF is a computerised performance test that measures sustained attention, timing, inhibitory control, motor control, working memory, cognitive flexibility and planning in a single session, wrapped in the jungle adventure of Momo, a curious monkey.
A seven-dimension cognitive profile
Sustained Attention
Consistent, accurate responding to targets (Momo); omissions and reaction-time variability.
Timing
Responding within the correct time window, neither early nor late.
Inhibitory Control
Withholding responses to non-targets (red banana, other animals).
Motor Control
Unnecessary, repetitive or off-task presses; motor impulse control during the test.
Working Memory
Capacity to recall fruit sequences forwards and backwards (span).
Cognitive Flexibility
Adapting when the rule changes; perseveration on the old rule and switch cost.
Planning
Guiding Momo home in the right order with minimal moves; planning latency before the first move.
